BOW MAKING CLASS

Learn the basics of making your own traditional all-wood bow. A roughed-out board stave will be provided, as well as all the tooling and instruction to have a tillered and shootable bow by the end of the day. Basic archery and shooting instruction will also be covered. The price of this class includes the stave and a matched high quality bow string.

WILDERNESS IMMERSION CLASS

Learn building a primitive shelter, making a friction fire, natural cordage, tracking, stalking and awareness, natural camouflage, archery, native edible and medicinal plants, and much more.
Our class room will be outside in the fresh air beneath the towering cedar and firs, near wild salmon-spawning rivers, witnessed by bald eagles, and moss covered boulders as chairs.

TRADITIONAL ARCHERY CLASS

Long before Robin Hood, people have been living and dying with the bow and arrow for tens of thousands of years. Feel the ancient magic of shooting a wooden bow! In this class, you will learn about proper archery form and get to practice shooting with several different types of traditional wooden bows.
Topics covered include bow tuning, practice techniques, bow types, strings, all about arrows, and more.

HIDE TANNING CLASS

We will begin with the raw deer hide and end with a softened, smoked buckskin hide. Because this cannot be done with one hide in a weekend, we will work with four different deer hides at different stages so that everyone can experience the main steps of the process.

Two Feathers Wilderness School is nestled into the wild North Cascade mountains, where deer, bear and cougar roam, salmon spawn, and eagles overwinter. This is the perfect back drop for experiencing the classes Steve teaches here.
